lighted orange lighthouse

Out on the Eastern Edge of Australia at Fingal Head, there is a lighthouse, this lighthouse. It’s small, not tall and it is sheltered by trees and shrubs so in the day it’s almost invisible but at night when it switches on it shines brighter than anything in the area. Its purpose is to protect and warn incoming ships on the dangerous coastal rocks in the area and it does it well. I appreciate it, it’s so inconspicuous but so important to the lives of so many and I like to think how many people have been saved by its existence.
