In February 2011, while sailing through Antarctica, I discovered this gigantic and bizarre wall of ice. The sheer size and unique shapes of the ice captivated me. What fascinated me again and again were the countless shades that ice can take on - from deep blue to bright white. This picture captures one of those quiet moments when the world seems almost surreal, as if time stands still in this cold, untouched wilderness. Antarctica is shown here in all its majestic splendor, a landscape that is both fragile and overwhelming.
