This spring was pretty waterlogged in the Pacific Northwest and the annual Tulip festivals were sort of drowned. It turns out Tulips don’t like copious amounts of water standing on the ground. I was searching for a picture and a metaphor and had almost given up when on my way out of the garden I happened across this lonely broken flower in a muddy puddle.
