Winter Road

Every year, we try to cut our own Christmas tree at one of the local tree farms. This particular year it was only me and my very young 12 y/o son. We were excited to be able to pick, cut and haul out our tree all by ourselves. We weren’t phased by the weather or how late in the day it was. Then, we saw the road. Undaunted, we ventured in & out of the rows upon rows of trees. What kind, how tall & wide, green, not green enough. We had to find the “perfect” tree. But, the road. An hour or so later, cold & wet, the farm owner hauled us & our tree out away from “the road”.
