Around 10:30 P.M. I noticed lightning in some distant clouds so I drove down to a nice farm field and set up right next to the road. I ran my aperture pretty low because I wanted to keep my exposure under 10 seconds which was necessary because the lightning was so far away it didn’t produce much light. After many tries I got this shot with simultaneous white sheet lightning in the higher clouds and yellow colored heat lightning below. When I put the pictures on my computer I liked the effect on another shot from the headlights of a passing car shining on the grass so I put the two together.
