This was the first shot I took in my 90-year-old father-in-law’s garage. The light striking the stacked boxes caught my eye, and then I was taken by the tangle of wire on top of the bench. The dim light made it look almost like a living thing, so I shot the scene with the wire deliberately out of focus, to try to capture its mysterious essence.
