Lions mate for 7 days, every 15 to 30 minutes. The female lion chooses her mate, then the male follows the female wherever she goes. They do not eat, they do not sleep, unless they are threatened by another animal. We saw this couple for several days while we were in Kruger National Park in South Africa, June, 2016.
