green trees during daytime

This is an old-growth temperate rain forest on the northern Oregon coast. There was a cloud cover moving in from the ocean before sunset, creating this warm light in the forest. And for those who don't have the luxury of living near an old-growth forest, this stand of moss-covered trees is located on a small mountain and less than a mile from the sea. The terrain is very uneven and the forest floor is covered in ferns. It's very damp and awesomely green. Not pictured: A large herd of elk that I met just moments after taking this picture.
