I took this while hiking up Mount Ka’ala, the tallest peak on Oahu. As we made our way up from the base, we found ourselves engulfed by the jungle in the midst of a tropical rainstorm. About 2/3 of the way to the summit, the trail gets so steep that the only way to scale the ridge is by way of a series of sketchy ropes tied to anything remotely sturdy - tough enough when dry, but even more fun when it’s basically a slip n slide.
