I had hiked up to this point the previous afternoon and seen the pink flowers contrasting the green mountains. I figured at sunrise they would be lit up in gold as the sun came over the mountains. So the following morning I got up early before the sun and set out to create the image in my head. The light did not happen, but the clean, crisp early morning air made the contrast between the layers even greater. I stood and took the majestic view of the Drakensberg in.
