It was a relatively calm and sunny day Saturday afternoon near Changshou Road, Shanghai. Drinking tea from my hotel window I watched people casually cycling and walking between the sunshine and the building shadow. Wearing almost all black, the person in this photograph blended in with the shadows while walking down the footpath. He crossed the road and walked parallel with shadows edge. Out of nowhere plumes of smoke covered his entire face that made him look like some kind of character out of a comic. Turns out he wasn’t a vampire but just vaping.
