The sun sets in 20 minutes and I know that starting tomorrow it will be two weeks of rain straight. As I fumble with my camera and phone settings, my beautiful flowers, my silver foil “35” balloons that keep dancing in the wind to make a stubborn “53”, in the last pink rays of the setting sun, with a couple having a picnic on my right and an old guy in a knit hat, smoking a joint on the bench where he parked his bike on my left, a Filipino woman in a cheerful jogging outfit walks right by me. She takes the whole scene in and gently says “Happy birthday”. I cry and press the shutter button.
