I spent almost 2 years living in Orange County, California shooting a photo essay about this ubiquitous place. Known mostly for its wealthy and fascist residents who populate motels and hotels on the weekends to do illicit drugs and have wild sex with everybody except their partners. In doing my research I discovered a newspaper article that detailed the outrageous amounts of money spent on fake Palm Trees. Why this was deemed necessary I’m not sure, but you can tell where they are installed because they look just a little too perfect.
