On a geological field trip we were driving through the Atacama desert when we came over the crest of a hill and were met with this stunning view. This place looked more like Mars than any other place I’ve seen on Earth. I’ve been a huge geek for anything Martian since I was a little boy, so I was pretty floored when I saw this view.
