This was taken around 6-7pm at Olivos, in the outskirts of Buenos Aires. Right on the shore of the Rio de la Plata. The subject is pouring hot water into what we call “mate”. Here’s Wikipedia’s definition of mate: Mate , is a traditional South American caffeine-rich infused drink. In the last centuries, it became particularly popular in Argentina and Uruguay. It is prepared by steeping dried leaves of yerba mate in hot water and is served with a metal straw from a shared hollow calabash gourd. The straw is called a bombilla in Spanish.
