This is an image I took of our ‘jaga’, or guard, just in passing on a Sunday afternoon when living in Bandung, Indonesia. Pak Yanto was incredibly loyal, very funny (lucu sekali), and loved the fact that I had taken his photo - and couldn’t believe I had framed it and put it up in the house. He used to ask permission to come inside and see it. When we left, I had a framed print made up for him. It’s one of my favourite images and memories of seven years in Indonesia.
