After the tumultuous rains and the cold creeping in, we had a few unexpected days of sun. With autumn already showing its signs, I had assumed we had seen the last blooms from our rose bush this season. But just like the sun came out for its last farewell, so too did these roses. It gave me pause, to realize that even such a delicate flower pushed its way to life in the weather that caused the trees to shed their leaves.
