Keep Surfing Munich

We were on a biking tour of Munich and our tour guide said that he wanted to show us something special. In Munich’s central park, people will surf in the Eisbach (the name of the beautiful man made canal that flows through the park). This became really popular when Munich hosted the summer olympics, but became illegal for a time because some people got hurt doing it. After the Keep Surfing Munich petition garnered more than 100,000 signatures, surfing here was made legal again (and liability is now protected under Germany’s “common sense” law).
