You can’t see red or yellow past a depth of about 40 feet in the ocean: all that remains is blue. So when I saw this nautilus (which is the Greek word for sailor) swimming calmly in his blue-lit tank amidst the shrieks and laughter of children at the Kansas City aquarium, I felt like I had entered another world. A world of quiet, of calm, of blue.
