closeup photography green snake

Green tree pythons tend to coil up and hang over a branch. They are very similar to the emerald tree boa, Corallus caninus, of the South American rain forests, and live a similar life in a similar habitat. The green tree python is found on a few islands in Indonesia, in Papua New Guinea, and a couple of places in Australia. The zoological name is Morelia viridis, with viridis meaning green. Photo taken at Hartley’s Creek Crococdile Adventures, near Cairns, Australia.
