I like to photograph iris from unusual angles to create abstract images that complement the ruffles, patterns and forms of the flower. On a bright day, shadows are an important factor too. A slightly overcast day like this one is preferable. The plane of focus on this image highlights the bright orange inner petals and the crinkled husk of the bud. This iris is called Game Plan.
