The Death Adder can hide by burying itself under cover, with just the head and the tip of the tail sticking out. It can then wiggle its tail to attract prey, which is called caudal luring. In this photo, the tip of the tail can be seen next to the snake’s head. The Death Adder has the fastest strike of any snake in the world, from stationary to biting, injecting venom, and back again to stationary, in 0.15 seconds (wikipedia).
