It was summer in the northern Italian Alps around midday. The alpine air was brisk as we walked around the quiet, picturesque lake. The water was as clear as glass without a ripple in sight. There were wild strawberries and mushrooms growing in the forest around the lake. The smell of the clean mountain air was sweet and refreshing, a nice break from city life
