Jeff and I studied fine-art photography in grad school together. This year, we did a 1,400-mile road trip that circled the Four Corners in the Southwestern U.S. We had a loose plan, but also understood that it was totally okay to pull over for any photo-related reason, for as long as necessary to get the shot. This was one of those moments.
