I have learned that Rome was once a very colour city. Over the thousands of years of its existence, many of those colours have faded due to the elements. In this particular piazza the colours that would have once been vibrant have beautifully faded on the walls of the building creating a muted tone. This photo was taken at high noon, so the shadows on the building created a beautiful depth on the otherwise flat stucco walls.
