brown and black spider

This persistent little guy lives on our porch. Every morning after his web has been destroyed by wind (or by us), he's out there rebuilding it just like it was before. I looked it up and I think it's a marbled orb weaver. They are indicative of the onset of fall, which comes pretty early up here in the hills.
