A Rusty Monitor, Varanus semiremex, peers out at the photographer at the Cairns Aquarium in Australia. This species looks quite similar to the Komodo dragon and according to the fossil record, there used to be a monitor lizard in Australia which was even larger than the present day Komodo Dragon.
