Chromacris speciosa (Thunberg, 1824) is a species of lubber grasshopper. This species usually appears in groups of 50 or more individuals and feeds almost exclusively on Solanaceae (potatoes), alfalfa, thistles, and other wild plants. It can become a pest in certain areas. It is native to central and northern Argentina, also present in Paraguay and Brazil.
