The Ivanpah Solar Power Facility is a concentrated solar thermal plant in the Mojave Desert near the California-Nevada border. Acres of heliostat mirrors direct sunlight onto receivers located in the 3 centralized solar towers. The receivers generate steam to drive turbines and generate power. When it opened in 2014, Ivanpah was the world's largest solar thermal power station. Last year (2019) it produced 772,214 MWh of electricity.
