Ubehebe is the result of a violent volcanic steam explosion that happened in the not too distant geological past. It is a massively impressive structure that slices right through hundreds of feet of geological formations. I loved shooting this view, as it looks almost like a cross section cut straight through what would otherwise be a serene desert panoramic. I love how that violent disruption has created something as strikingly beautiful as what I encountered at Ubehebe.
