I was in my apartment in Minneapolis the day after George Floyd's death, which was located about 5 miles from my home, when I got a notification that there would be a protest right on 38th and Chicago, outside Cup Foods, at 5 PM that day. I packed my gear quickly and arrived at the start of the protest/march and got to the exact place where Floyd was murdered. A lady was weeping right out front of Cup Foods, and when we started marching down 38th she continued to sob much of the way. I decided to try to capture the pure emotion I was seeing, and hoped to translate that into my image.
