This is my most recent and favorite shot of the Oslo Opera House I have taken to date (so far). I was hosting a friend from out of town, so we took an obligatory sightseeing photo walk/coffee crawl. I took this shot while on the walkway as we were approaching the Opera. Recently, I have been influenced by photographers (especially those here on Unsplash) who use empty space to bring the viewer’s focus onto the element he or she intentionally captured within the frame. I’ve been using a simple rule of thumb to create these shots: Use 1/3 of the frame (max.) for the subject, 2/3 empty space.
