An aerial view of a red and black landscape

I love waiting until the last few minutes before sunset at these remote Oregon locations and taking closeups of ancient geological formations. The colors here were formed over millions of years by dissolved biological matter, erosion, and the various landscapes that existed at this location. The texture of these formations is spongy and soft, which is how these curves form from water erosion.
