The open pit lignite mine Etzweiler in Germany. (Braunkohletagebau) Spanning 3x5 km, it's the second largest in this area. Just Garzweiler, some km away, is bigger. You may know Etzweiler from it's consequences on the Hambacher Forst or Hambi, as we call it in Germany.
