Winter in Canada is special, particularly so if you’re not a big fan. Like me. To me winter is cold, desolate, windy, and inhuman. I hate bundling up, I hate being cold, I’m not a winter sports guy although I do watch hockey and curling. I don’t derive any pleasure from this season, but there is some inherent beauty in the quiet desolate cold. The pier behind the Holiday Inn in Kingston is an example. Icy, lonely, waiting for the Spring breakup.
