We made a day trip to Zhujiajiao from Shanghai in 2003. It’s a tourist town, but it has a waterway feel like Venice Italy. Lots of vendors of course, as many people visit. We bought some souvenirs including a silk comforter and including a drink made from these roots. Don’t know what they are?
