Breed in Service: Guardians of Livestock. Tazy an ancient breed, protects livestock by keeping people at bay. Their ancestry traces back to Ancient Egyptian dogs and Salukis, an Arabian greyhound. Tazy is believed to have been in Kazakhstan for over 7,000 years. Owners cherished these dogs; a purebred Tazy was worth more than fifty horses or a couple of camels. They assisted in hunting and daily life, even saving families from hunger. Tazy were respected, revered, and loved; they had their own place in the home and could enter yurts without hesitation.
