Pictured here is the original US Route 93 highway road that passed through hoover dam. Before the construction of the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge, US Route 93 crossed the Colorado River directly over the Hoover Dam itself. The original roadway, known as the Hoover Dam Bypass, passed over the top of the dam, leading to traffic congestion and security concerns due to its narrow lanes and proximity to the dam's facilities. The completion of the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge provided a safer and more efficient alternative route for travelers, bypassing the dam and reducing congestion o
