The famous Looshaus of 1912 which marks a new era in Viennese architecture, Modernism, leaving behind Historism but as well Jugendstil (Art Deco) of the Secession. Its sober style lead to harsh criticism: the flower baskets of the upper windows had to be added as decorative element. It was called “the house without eyebrows”. Now used as a bank and for exhibitions.
