Aihole was school of Stone carving and sculpting in The Chalukyan era. Apart from today's common temple which has only carvings of particular deities, here many carvings are beautifully made as reflection of social and spiritual life at that time. Artists trained from these schools proved their love for art in making of Badami Cave Temples which is a well regarded architectural heritage of India
