The silver-backed jackal, alternatively known as the black-backed jackal, is a medium-sized canid indigenous to eastern and southern Africa. The geographical span of its habitat covers approximately 900 kilometers, encompassing the southernmost part of the continent, which includes South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe.
