This is the Rosette nebula, commonly called ngc2244, even though that name only refers to the cluster of bright stars in the centre of this nebulae. The rosette 🏵️ nebula is aptly named so due to its resemblance of a top down rose. It’s filled with ionised hydrogen and oxygen which gives it its beautiful vibrant colours. This photo is made from 650minutes of exposure, captured through several cold January nights in 2023.
