a piece of paper that has been cut in half

I found this white tree bark on a sidewalk near my home. I think it may be the bark of a weeping birch or paper birch. I decided to photograph it against a white background to emphasize the contrast i white tones and the bark’s pattern. The bark’s shape, mostly square, seems self contained - except for a small segment at the upper right, which extends and points. It makes me think of a traffic signal or roadway sign.
