This style of farm house is common in the North East England and Cumbria and County Durham. At least four bedrooms upstairs with massive kitchen a pantry or larder room to keep your milk and cream and cheese cool. Busy homes need lots of useful space. Sometimes to keep the orphan lambs warm and always to keep the men well fed so they can work on the land. I loved staying with my aunt Nora at Bluestone Grange farm. Nothing like that farm smell.
