A original oil painting. Beautiful but wild. Wastwater in the English Lake District has high magnificent mountains rising above this wide valley. One side of the lake has long swathes of loose rock called scree, which falls towards the lakes steep edge and then plunges down into its darkest depths. I walked along this side with my father in the 1970s and it was ore inspiringly difficult but beautiful. It brought us out near the old church and hotel at Wastwater Head. Definitely recommended, but don’t try this walk alone.
