What is it about the Oregon coast that just emits authenticity? Is it the grizzled, 40-something-year-old that wakes up at 4:30 every morning, slips into his dungarees, cracks a coors, lights his cig, and carts out his rods to the gnarly sea to catch some crabs? Yeah, it's that guy. I saw a few of those characters while exploring the Empty Coast. It's just so real. Genuine.
