"Dakhma" is a place where Zoroastrians in Iran would leave their dead to be consumed by birds. There is a well in the center of the "Dakhma" where the remaining bones of the dead were placed, and it was called "Ostudan". This is an interior view of a Dakhma. When I entered the Dakhma, I was confronted with this scene, a woman standing in the center of the Dakhma looking into the Ostudan, a scene of eerie juxtaposition between death and life.
