Our subject is a tailor, not posed but aware that he’s being photographed. Befuddled as a bird who flew into a house - he doesn’t know how to react. Should he present the best version of himself? Should he pose? A smile? A wink? Pout coquettishly like the girls he saw on the internet? It is this exact moment that’s captured on camera. The exact moment where he’s overwhelmed by the apparatus: the camera. Though being photographed is not new to him, I’ve caught him at his workplace wearing a banyan, I’ve caught without any ostentation, without a façade. He’s at his most raw state.
