The Rain Tree at Taj West End. Planted approximately 1848, and of indigenous origin with wide shelter, soft foliage, and pink flowers, it is home to many birds. Ancient belief is this tree spreads moisture and hence it is called the rain tree. There is one Rain Tree (Albizia saman) in the garden of the Taj West End Hotel in Bangalore (state of Karnataka).
