A large red object in the middle of the night sky

The California Nebula is a large emission nebula in the constellation Perseus. I processed this a few different ways....liked this version with red and some pink shades throughout which represents the rich hydrogen in the nebula. The star field surrounding this object is dense and beautiful, so I included a large number of stars but tried not to overwhelm the nebulosity. The shape resembles the state of California and this object is 1500 light years from Earth.
